WHAT IS THE LANTERNMAN ACT?

'The Lanterman Developmental Disabilities Services Act, known as the “Lanterman Act,” is an important piece of legislation that was passed in 1969. This is the California law that says people with developmental disabilities and their families have a right to get the services and supports they need to live like people without disabilities.'

 As a result of this progressive and foundational Act, persons with developmental disabilities may choose to live in Adult Residential Facilities like ours (sometimes called 'group homes') throughout California. Here they can receive compassionate, person-centered care and they have the right to choose where they live.

We founded Pacifica Residential Care out of a pure passion for people. Since opening in 2008, we have expanded to two locations and are proud to say that 3 of our first clients are still with us to this day.
